The Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary are looking for golfers and sponsors for their 16th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, June 13 at Blue Fox Run Golf Course, 65 Nod Road, Avon.
Sponsorship information and a registration form for players may be downloaded at www.simsburyfd.org or call 860‑658‑1971. Six sponsorship levels begin at $50 for a business card ad in the tournament program up to $1,500 for a complete golf package for eight players, sponsorship of a hole, tee and green signs, sponsorship of a pin flag, eight embroidered golf towels, and a plaque.
For golfers, the cost per player to register by May 23 is $125.00, or $150.00 after that date, which includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, a foursome photo, a sleeve of golf balls and a gift bag. Also included is a hot lunch, cocktail hour with open bar, dinner and an awards ceremony. Guest dinner tickets may be purchased for $35.00.

For $20, golfers can test their golfing skills against a firefighter in firefighting gear at a par 3 hole. Closest to the pin earns bragging rights.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation, which sponsors the Arthur C. Luf Children’s Burn Camp each summer, the Fire Company’s Lieutenant Richard Kelleher Memorial Scholarship and the Bowman Kerr Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship, Fire Company safety, firefighting and educational equipment and the Ladies Auxiliary's Burn Buddy program which gives stuffed bears to local hospitals for use in treating children.
