Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company Service Awards

The Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company has honored 13 members for their service. Receiving an award for 40 years of service was Deputy Chief Kevin Kowalski, with 11,004 callouts. Engineer Hugh Caldwell, West Simsbury station, received an award for thirty-five years of service with 5,045 callouts.


Firefighter David Harris, West Simsbury station, 5,072 callouts was honored for 30 years of service. Engineer Steve Behrens, Firetown station, 3,714 callouts, and Public Information Officer Kitty Vangunten, 4,912 callouts, received twenty-five year awards.


Honored for 20 years of service was Firefighter Jon Starr, West Simsbury station, 2,599 callouts. Fifteen year awards went to Captain Todd Kelley, Weatogue station, 3,898 callouts, Firefighter Ken Boudreau, Main station, 3,245 callouts, Captain Jason Gilbert, Firetown station, 5,077 callouts, and Engineer Joe Barrett, Tariffville station, 2,810 callouts.

A ten year service award went to Firefighter Tim Zeilman, West Simsbury station, 1,445 callouts, and five year awards went to Engineer Brad Miller, West Simsbury station, 1,189 callouts, and Firefighter Matt Alicona, Weatogue station, 574 callouts.
