Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company & Ladies Auxiliary Service Awards

Sixteen members recognized for their services.

Service awards went to 11 Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company members and five Ladies Auxiliary members this year.

. Recognized for 45 years of service were Deputy Chief Kevin Kowalski, 12,739 calls. Firefighter Hugh Caldwell, West Simsbury station, 6.024 calls, received an award for 40 years of service while Firefighter Dave Harris, Bushy Hill station, 5,495 calls, had 35 years of service.

Thirty-year awards wet to Firefighter Steven Behrens, Firetown station, 4,986 calls and Public Information Officer Kitty Vangunten, 5,284 calls. Captain Todd Kelley, West Simsbury station, 5,024 calls; Lt. Kenneth Boudreau, Firetown station, 4,300 calls; and Assistant Chief Jason Gilbert, 6,793 calls, received awards for 20 years of service.

Firefighter Brad Miller, West Simsbury station, 2,211 calls, was recognized for 10 years of service and Firefighters Christopher Trovato, Main station, 1,148 calls and Patrick Driscoll, Weatogue station, 872 calls, had five years of service.

The five Ladies Auxiliary members honored were: Tracy Saperstein, 25 years; and Cheryl Burkett, Tammy O’Brian, Kriss Brown and Beth Ann Vervaert, 10 years.
