Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company Members Become Certified Confined Space Rescue Technicians

                Assistant Chief Randall Chesanek; Captain Jay Dixon, Weatogue station; Engineer Petra Weisbrich, Main station; and Firefighters Brian Everest, Firetown station and Terek Perdue, Tariffville station, of the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company, have completed Connecticut Fire Academy classes to gain state certification as Rescue Technician - Confined Space.

                This is a part of a series of Rescue Technician classes meeting NFPA and OSHA standards for certification.

                The 48 hours of training teaches preplanning, evaluating atmospheres and using protective equipment in confined spaces.
