Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company Members Complete Firefighter I Course

Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company members Alison Boyko and Daniel Roth certified Firefighter I.

Firefighters Alison Boyko, Bushy Hill station, and Daniel Roth, Firetown station, of the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company, have been certified Firefighter I by the State of Connecticut.

The 160-hour course covers fire suppression, breathing apparatus, search and rescue, ladders, ropes, hydrant hook-up, and salvage and overhaul. The class prepares students to become on-line firefighters, trained in all phases of fire suppression.
