Firefighters Brian Everest, Firetown station, and Harley Heath, Weatogue station, of the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company, have completed a course in Rescue Technician - Core that leads to NFPA 1006 Rescue Technician certification.
The 48-hour course is an introduction to rescue management, including rope-rescue equipment, lowering and hauling systems and maintaining rescue equipment. NFPA Rescue Technicians perform rope, surface water, vehicle, machinery, confined space, structural collapse and trench rescues.
