Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company Team Completes Charity Stair Climb

The Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company team of Todd Kelley (team captain), Ryan Jacobs, Greg Reynolds, and Christopher Sanetti, competed in the 2024 Fight for Air Climb, a fundraiser for the American Lung Association. Jacobs led the team with a time of 8:44. The team raised $2,784; Kelley was the top fundraiser with $1,509.

The Hartford stair climb was held on Hartford 21’s 688 steps. Over $124,000 was raised to fight lung disease.

The American Lung Association is the leading organization working on improving lung health and preventing lung disease, according to its website. Founded in 1904 to combat tuberculosis, they are the oldest voluntary health organization. “Our non-profit organization works to defeat lung cancer, improve the air we breathe, reduce the burden of lung disease on individuals and their families, eliminate tobacco use and tobacco-related diseases.”
