Simsbury Voters Approve Town/School Budgets
Local voters easily said 'yes' to government and education spending packages for 2023-24 during a referendum Tuesday.

SIMSBURY, CT — Voters Tuesday resoundingly said "yes" to the Town of Simsbury's government and education spending plans for 2023-24 during a sparsely attended budget referendum.
With only a 6.8 percent voter turnout, Simsbury voters approved a $31.68 million general government budget; an $81.58 million board of education budget; and a $17.15 million spending package for multiple items such as the sewer treatment plant, debt service and capital non-recurring items, among others.
The vote tallies were clearly in favor of all three questions: 785-484 for the selectmen government budget; 746-524 for the school budget; and 875-392 for the spending package.
