Simsbury's Budget March Toward 2025-26 Begins In Earnest
The Simsbury Board of Selectmen has begun preliminary talks on town spending, with officials releasing early info on the budget process.

SIMSBURY, CT — The new year is a month old, but town officials are already preparing for the next fiscal year, setting up a comprehensive web page on how your tax dollars are/could be spent.
The Town of Simsbury has already begun work on the town's 2025-26 municipal budget proposal, with the Simsbury Board of Selectmen Monday having discussions with town staff on the town manager’s proposed Capital Improvement Program and Capital Non-Recurring Plan.

Then on Feb. 10, Simsbury Town Manager Marc Nelson will present his proposed 2025-26 operating budget to selectmen.

This presentation will be followed by an initial question-and-answer period between the board and town manager at that meeting.
On Feb. 24, town department heads and selectmen will participate in a budget workshop to discuss the proposed budget and work towards adoption by the board of selectmen.
Following the budget workshop and adoption of the budget by the Board of Selectmen, the budget will be presented to the Simsbury Board of Finance on March 11.
After the finance board sets the spending plan, the budget goes to the public later in the spring, culminating with a budget vote in May.
