Simsbury's Workweek Forecast Includes Chance of Thunderstorms

We enjoyed a summer-like day on Sunday with temperatures in the upper 80s, well it’s back-to-reality this morning with temperatures that are about 10 degrees cooler on Monday.

For the work week forecast it looks stormy and unstable for Monday and Tuesday but starting on Wednesday and continuing through the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, the weather looks amazing with plenty of sunshine and late spring-like temps.

On Monday, there will be partly cloudy skies and heavy rain at night. Tuesday will be rainy with a chance of thunderstorms during the day and an additional chance of showers in the evening.

On Monday the high temp will be in the upper 60s and on Tuesday it rises into the low 70s.

But starting on Wednesday the forecast calls for nothing but sunshine running through Sunday with temps near 70 degrees - or a little above - each day.

We’ll update this forecast later in the week, which will include Memorial Day itself.

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 75. South wind 8 to 10 mph.

Tonight: A chance of showers before 3am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 3am and 5am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. South wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 3pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Areas of fog before 2pm. High near 74. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers before 10pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 10pm and 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. Northwest wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 43.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 72.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 75.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 45.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 72.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 46.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 80.
