Six Local Field Hockey Players Named to National Academic Squad

Six student athletes from The Ethel Walker School honored

Lauren Cleaver ’20, Lily Cullen ’20, Kathie Ludz ’20, Shiyue (Kitty) Huang ’20, Ava Rivera ’20, and Kathryn Mason ’21 were all named to the Keith Waldman - Optimal Performance Associates / National Field Hockey Coaches Association High School National Academic Squad. This marks the second year in a row that Lily has received this honor.
The High School National Academic Squad program recognizes high school seniors and juniors who have achieved a minimum cumulative, unweighted grade-point average of 3.50 out of 4.0 or the equivalent through the first quarter of the 2019-20 school year. Over 2,300 student-athletes from more than 270 high schools across the country have been named to the Academic Squad.
The NFHCA All-Academic Squad began in 2001 and Walker’s players have been recognized as early as 2008.
*The Scholar of Distinction Honor recognizes students who achieved a minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.9 out of 4.0 or the equivalent through the first quarter.
