Skier From Simsbury to Compete In U14 Eastern Championships

SIMSBURY, CT — Simsbury resident Gavin Bohadik, an eighth-grade student at the Watkinson School in Hartford, has earned a spot to represent the TriState Ski League at the USSA U14 Eastern Championships at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid on March 16-19.

Bohadik achieved this accomplishment by skiing to pair of third-place finishes at the TriState Championships at Berkshire East. He also placed third in the Connecticut Youth Ski League this year to make the championships.

Rich Bohadik, Gavin's father, commented, "Gavin had the opportunity to ski as the forerunner in the prep school ski league. This, coupled with his skiing on Ski Sundown’s team and his hours of training, has gotten him to the spot on the TriState team. Watkinson has supported him and allowed him to follow his passion while still working towards his school goals."
