Sound of Music Sing-Along Family Event

Come and celebrate the 50th anniversary of "The Sound of Music" in this fun-filled movie sing-along for all ages. Prizes for best costumes

From California to England, audiences love to sing along with the von Trapp family in The Sound of Music. The Simsbury Public Library invites the whole family to a Sound of Music movie sing-along to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the beloved movie. The audience is encouraged to come in costume - anything from the white dress with a blue satin sash to traditional lederhosen. Bring your brown paper package tied up in string and your edelweiss and be prepared to participate and have fun! Students Sarah Ursini and Maya Pascouche from Simsbury High School’s Music and Performing Arts Department will act as emcees. If you have ever dreamed of being in a musical, this is your chance! This is an inter-generational event - all ages welcome. There will be a prize for the best costume.

This program will be held at the Simsbury Public Library, 725 Hopmeadow Street on Sunday, March 8, 2015 beginning at 1:30 p.m. Reserve a seat at 860-658-7663 x2200 or www.simsburylibrary.info. Free and open to all.
