Spotlight on 50 Years Onstage in Simsbury!

Fifty years ago, a group of Simsbury residents sat around discussing their mutual love of theater, and decided to create an organization to share that common interest with the community. Fifty years later, the Theatre Guild of Simsbury (TGS) is still going strong. Established in 1973, TGS has been an integral part of the Simsbury, Connecticut community, providing high-quality entertainment and fostering a love for the performing arts. To mark this milestone, TGS is celebrating with events that showcase past productions and look forward to a vibrant future.

On Saturday June 24th at 7:30, a Musical Revue will be presented at Eno Memorial Hall in Simsbury. The production will celebrate 50 years of musicals, and will include much-loved songs in both medleys and solos, featuring many performers reprising original roles. The show will include songs from such favorites as The Music Man, The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Annie, Hello Dolly, 9 to 5: The Musical, and My Favorite Year. Tickets are $19.73 each and must be purchased in advance at theatreguildsimsbury.org.

The highpoint of the year’s anniversary celebration will be a gala event at the Simsbury Inn on Friday, October 6th beginning at 6:30. Join us as we mark this momentous milestone.
The festivities include an open bar cocktail hour hosted by the Theatre Guild of Simsbury, hors d’oeuvres, plated dinner, dessert, dancing, memorabilia, theater trivia, and a cash bar for the remainder of the evening. Tickets are $75 each and must be purchased in advance at theatreguildsimsbury.org. After purchasing your ticket, you will be directed to a member survey. The gala event promises to be a night to remember, and a fitting tribute to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in TGS over the past 50 years.
