Spring Begins This Week in Simsbury

Check out these things in the next five days.

This is the time of year that suddenly all of the spider webs, mismatched socks/shoes, overstuffed closets, stacks of important papers, catalogues, and magazines become intolerable. Last week, they were invisible, but now they must be purged and/or donated. A clean window strikes me as a stupendous idea. A raked yard is definitely on the list. And we are getting to those cobwebs ... but first here are five things to do in the next five days about town in Simsbury:

Monday, March 21 – After their general meeting, the Simsbury Garden Club will host renowned speaker and author, Sydney Eddison to discuss Gardening for a Lifetime: How to Garden Wiser as You Grow Older which is her book about how to adapt your gardening to suit your lifestyle and current needs. This is from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the program room in the and according to the Amazon website which cited from her book,She is a regular lecturer at flower shows, including the Philadelphia Flower Show, as well as at conferences and horticultural societies. She teaches at the New York Botanical Gardens. Her articles appear regularly in Martha Stewart Living, Country Living Gardener, and Fine Gardening.”

Also of interest, free, and open to the public Monday is Senior Wisdom lecture series called “What’s Hot to Sell Before You Clean Out Your House” where Jamie Selig, owner of Central Street Antiques and Auctions in Windsor will tell what is popular and of value to resell today and what is not.
