Sprucing at the Simsbury Hair Gallery at the Mill

Relaxing setting and talented stylists can lift your spirits as you prepare for the holidays

We may have a problem ladies and gents of Simsbury. Some of you are out buying presents for your spouse's Aunt Sally and Uncle Stew and your bountiful procreating siblings, while forgetting to take care of yourselves. I stumbled across a solution that I can recommend. The in Tariffville was the treat I needed to fill up the stuff of life that keeps this girl dazzling. Located at 2 Tunxis Rd., suite 102, in Tariffville, is a thriving oasis of beautification, and if you have seen me lately you know I have been there.

Now, I know you all have your own hairdressers and they are wonderful people who hold the town's innermost secrets close to their hearts. But sometimes haircut wanderlust happens and when it does, Jacqueline Michaud, a Simsbury resident originally from England, can be there. While sitting in a sleek but comfortable chair looking out at bare brick walls, big tall windows, high ceilings and tasteful greenery, I got a just right head massage followed by a careful consultation about what I wanted done. Jacqueline was spot on, as they say in England.  She skillfully cut my hair and we chatted away about England and the Cayman Islands and well, dessert.

After my do, I received no less than 10 random compliments about my new haircut about town. It even was noticed by some men, which we know is the true measure of a phenomenon. The service at the Hair Gallery was friendly and sincere and the owners Jane Dudgeon from Granby and Michelle Fahy from Suffield have enticed me to come back to try a "buckwheat therapy pack" and a keratin refresher.
