Support for Cheryl Cook

I have had the privilege over the past several years to serve with Cheryl Cook on a state agency committee tasked with protecting the human and civil rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Cheryl has brought intelligence, passion, insight, and common sense to her work on this committee. She is able to analyze complex and sometimes confusing information, listen carefully to people, get to core issues and join with others to develop workable solutions. She has the gift of being able to advocate without being adversarial. She is a leader among her peers.

As a volunteer elected municipal official in another community and, more importantly, as a citizen, I know Cheryl embodies the type of leadership that every community needs and deserves. From her life experience as a parent of a child with a disability and as a legal advocate, she understands people are what really matter. I encourage you to vote for Cheryl Cook as she will be an asset to the Town and citizens of Simsbury.
