​ SVFC Team Completes Charity Stair Climb

The Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company team of Todd Kelley (team captain), Donna Anderson, Ken Boudreau, Eli Brenner, Rick Callahan, Ryan Long, Brian Tomaska and Gianni Zunino, competed in the 2022 Fight for Air Climb, a fundraiser for the American Lung Association. The team was the fourth-place fundraising team with $5,985. Boudreau was third in individual fundraising, with $3,135.

The Hartford stair climb was held in Dunkin’ Donuts Park and was 976 steps throughout the stadium seating. Over $94,000 was raised to fight lung disease. Over the last 12 years, climbers have raised over $65 million dollars.

Brenner led the team to third place among the firefighter teams. His time was 6:26 and the team time was 36:04.

The American Lung Association is the leading organization working on improving lung health and preventing lung disease, according to its website. Founded in 1904 to combat tuberculosis, they are the oldest voluntary health organization.
