Three Women, Three Roads: A Live Theatrical Performance with Nancy Palmento Schuler

Meet 3 unique women drawn from real life in this live theatrical performance by Nancy Schuler.

Come and celebrate Women's History Month on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Simsbury Public Library, 725 Hopmeadow St! Written and performed by Nancy Palmento Schuler, Three Roads, Three Women is a play about three very different women and their individual journeys to Connecticut. All are based on actual facts and people, although some names have been changed. Nancy's performance has been described as 'moving, insightful, and original'. Characters include Teresa Gargiulo Palmento, a widowed Italian immigrant in Waterbury struggling to raise her family and become a citizen; Junie Harlow from Middlebury, who is now 90 and shares her thoughts on aging and love; and Ruth Jeffers, a black woman born in the 1940s in North Carolina, moving to Waterbury with her son. Now in her 70s, she reflects on growing up in the South before the Civil Rights Movement and her inspiring outlook on life. Nancy Schuler was born and raised in Waterbury. Over the past 30 years, she has been an artist, coach, athlete and personal trainer, recently transitioning to writing and acting, turning stories from her female clients and her own family members into short monologues. Nancy has performed at universities, museums, theaters, libraries and community centers in Connecticut and New York City.
