Top 100 Elementary Schools in CT for 2016, See Where Simsbury Ranked

Online reviews website Niche.com just released its 2016 list of the best elementary schools throughout the nation, as well as the state of Connecticut, and many schools you’ll recognize are considered among the best on both lists.

Greenwich’s North Mianus School tops the list for Connecticut, and comes in 37th overall. Second is King’s Highway Elementary School in Westport (43rd overall), followed by the International School at Dundee in the Riverside section of Greenwich and 46th overall, Saugatuck Elementary School in Westport (49th) and Riverside School in Greenwich (52nd).

Overall, the nation’s best elementary school is Glenwood Elementary in Short Hills, NJ, and in fact, Short Hills also boasts the number two and threeoverall schools, Deerfield Elementary and Hartshorn Elementary. Hillside Elementary in Tredyffrin, PA, is fourth and Wyoming Elementary in Millburn Township, NJ, was fifth.

Connecticut placed a total of 18 elementary schools among the top 100 overall.

Niche ranked thousands of districts based on dozens of statistics and 27 million opinions from 300,000 students and parents. Among the criteria Niche looked at were academics, teachers and student culture and diversity.

Fairfield and West Hartford placed the most schools among Connecticut’s top 100 with 11 each, followed by Greenwich with 10. Ridgefield and Glastonbury both have six on the state list, followed by Westport and Darien with five each.
