Trail/Intersection Reconstruction Starts Monday In Simsbury

The project will impact a local hiking trail as well as an intersection in town.

SIMSBURY, CT — A well-used hiking trail is getting a major facelift in town with the project also impacting a local intersection, town officials annouced Thursday.

Called the "Bloomfield-Tariffville Multi-Use Trail Connector Project – Mountain Road," work is set to begin Monday, July 24.

According to Simsbury officials, Schultz Corp. out of Terryville will be rebuilding the intersection of Mountain Road and Elm Street.

"The work on Mountain Road and Elm Street will include realignment of the road with associated drainage, paving, curbing and lawn restoration," Simsbury officials wrote in an announcement.

The work will take approximately two weeks to complete.

Schultz Corp. will keep the road open to the residents living on Mountain Road at all times and will keep any delays to a minimum, according to Simsbury officials.
