SHS Singers Picked To National Honors Choir

SIMSBURY, CT — Two Simsbury High School students probably will have no problems singing for their Thanksgiving suppers.

SHS students Camden Fuller, a junior, and Carmine Trovato, a senior, have been selected to participate in The American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National High School Mixed Honor Choir, the school system announced earlier this month.

Out of 4,000 applicants at the elementary, junior and senior high levels, less than 1,200 students are chosen for the four auditioned choirs.

As part of this honor, Camden and Carmine are invited to the ACDA National Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio, Feb. 22-25, 2023.

There, they will learn a challenging repertoire and perform at the Cincinnati Springer Auditorium.

The soprano, alto, tenor and bass honor choir will be conducted by Dr. Eugene Rogers, a two-time Grammy Award winner and current director of choirs at the University of Michigan.
