Ukulele Strummers Putting On Simsbury 'Uke Hoot'
All lovers of Ukulele music are invited to listen, sing and play at a special music event at the Simsbury Public Library Saturday.
SIMSBURY, CT — Normally, silence is the best sound for a public library.
But the Simsbury Public Library on Saturday morning will host a program that will fill the building with beautiful music of the ukulele variety.
Folks are invited to listen and sing along with the "Kinetic Ukes," an acoustic ukulele band that will play their brand of all-American sounds from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.at the library, which is located at 725 Hopmeadow Road.

They call their shows — or community play-alongs — "Uke Hoots.'
But, even better than just listening and/or singing with the group, you might even get to play with them if you like to strum the string, so to speak.

The "Kinetic Ukes" are inviting budding ukulele strummers to join them in the event.
The show is free, but registering early will gain guests access to the songbook so they can practice and prepare to perform or sing with them.
"Kinetic Ukes is a community of local ukulele players working to provide opportunities for ukulele players at all levels to experience the joy of making music and learning together," reads a library announcement of the program.
