Valentine's Haiku Postcard

Check out our sweet literary afternoon on February 10th at 12:30 pm!

In this workshop Gale will start off with tips to help you create better pictures before you experiment with making flat lays and still lifes of objects. Students should bring a few items that they may want to include in their image, anything that can fit on a tabletop is welcome-- hearts and flowers are fine but unconventional items are wonderful, too (ephemera, natural objects like stones or plants, edible items, books, fabric scraps, flotsam and jetsam, vintage finds....). You’ll choose 2-3 of your favorite images as springboards to write modern haiku. Beverly will share examples and lead you through prompts for writing your own poems. We will print images and assemble, with handwritten haiku, on beautiful heavyweight postcard blanks. Leave with 2-3 postcards to send to your favorite sweetheart(s)!
