Veteran Simsbury Cop Earns National Honor
The longtime police official recently completed the rigorous FBI National Academy program in Quantico, Va.

SIMSBURY, CT — A veteran Simsbury Police Department administrator recently attained one of law enforcement's highest honors when he completed a rigorous training program courtesy of the FBI.
According to the SPD, Lt. Greg Samselski graduated as a member of the 288th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va., on Dec. 7.
He is the 9th member in department history to complete this prestigious program.

Nationally, fewer than 1 percent of officers have the opportunity to attend the program, according to the SPD.
“Lt. Samselski has served our community proudly for over 25 years. He has a tremendous amount of experience and has held many positions within the department. His knowledge base, leadership and expertise have grown through the FBI National Academy experience. There is no doubt that his participation has contributed to the growth and experience of his academy classmates, as it has in Simsbury,” said Simsbury Police Chief Nick Boulter in a statement.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy offers 10 weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training.
Participants must have proven records as professionals within their agencies to attend.
Samselski is one of 198 law enforcement officers from 45 states and the District of Columbia.
