SIMSBURY, CT — The town is looking for volunteers from all political party affiliations to fill a few openings on town boards and commissions.

Simsbury officials Monday sent out a call for volunteers to step up to serve their town.

Those interested in volunteering can fill out a volunteer form.

"Due to our charter some positions may only be filled with the same party of the person who resigned mid-term," wrote the town.

The following positions need to be filled:

  • Building Code Board of Appeals (alternate member) – (Must be a registered Democrat)
  • Conservation Commission/Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Agency – (No party affiliation necessary)
  • Public Building Committee – (Must be a registered Democrat)
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council – (No party affiliation necessary)
  • Zoning Board of Appeals – two alternates sought – (Must be a registered Democrat)
