Water Main Project To Cause Traffic Impacts: Simsbury
Aquarion Water Co. is starting a water main replacement project on three local roads next week.
SIMSBURY, CT — Water mains in one part of Simsbury are getting a much-needed refurb, but it could mean summer of traffic disruptions in the neighborhood starting next week.
According to the Town of Simsbury, Aquarion Water Co. is starting a water main replacement project on Station Street, Jim Gallagher Way and Railroad Street.
This project is expected to begin Monday, May 8, and it is anticipated to be completed through the summer.

The project, which will replace approximately 1,646 feet of water main, is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion’s water distribution system, according to the town.
"Aquarion representatives have indicated they will work closely with residents and businesses to minimize any disruptions," wrote the Town of Simsbury in an announcement.

Due to construction, residents should expect "minor traffic delays" and possible detours during the working hours of 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Mizzy Construction, Inc. of Plainville will be serving as the contractor for the water main replacement project.
