What’s that Buzzing Sound You Hear?! It’s Simsbury Farms “Buzz Day”!

What is it?

Simsbury Farms recreation complex is widely considered to be one of the “Gems of Simsbury”. The recreation complex is one of the first things that realtors show to prospective residents, and current residents utilize the many components of “The Farms” throughout the year.

The Friends of Simsbury Farms is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization, dedicated to bringing improvements to “The Farms” that would normally not be available through Town budgeting. The Friends sponsors their annual Golf tournament – dedicated to raising funds to be used for upgrades and improvements throughout the Simsbury Farms complex. This year, the sold-out tournament is Friday, September 29, with a 9 am Tee off.

“Simsbury Farms Buzz Day”, then, is a day dedicated to raising the profile of Simsbury Farms with all residents and users alike, and to and to supporting and sponsoring this important event, that directly benefits the complex.

What Can I do to participate or possibly win a prize?

We’re asking residents and businesses alike to “buzz in”, via their social media channels, and the Friends of Simsbury Farms Facebook page, with stories, pictures, and any anecdotes you would like to share about “The Farms”.

• Have some old photos from when it was Orkil Apple Orchards? Share them!
• Find old photos in the archives from your hockey games at the rink? Share them!
• Were you a “Simsbury Sprinter” swim team member? Put up your photos!
• Have some old (or new) golf photos? Put ‘em up!

We just need at least 20 posts/comments in order to qualify for a random selection to win a $25 Gift Card from “The Friends”!

How does it work?

Anytime on Tuesday, Sept 5, between 7 am and 5pm,
