Recent Simsbury HS Grad Gets Perfect Score In AP Art

SIMSBURY, CT— Perfection is something many of strive for, but, sadly, never achieve.

However, one recent graduate of Simsbury High School can say otherwise.

Simsbury High School Class of 2022 graduate, Rebecca Poole, has made history as her performance on the Advanced Placement (AP) Drawing Exam in May 2022 was so superior, it fel into a very select category, according to school officials.

Advanced Placement Exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5.

According to the school system, Poole not only received the top score of 5, but also earned every point possible on each portion of the exam, making her one of only 343 students in the world to receive a perfect score.

"AP courses and exams are college-level, requiring great focus and persistence among participating students,” said Trevor Packer, head of Simsbury's Advanced Placement Program.

“We applaud Rebecca’s hard work and the educators who encourage students to challenge themselves, who motivate and encourage diverse students to achieve their academic potential.”
