Following the great success of the inaugural event last year, the Arts & Culture Subcommittee of the Southbury Economic Development Commission is delighted to announce the second annual Southbury Chalk Walk. We invite the community to this free event taking place on Saturday, October 14th, from 10am to 2pm, encompassing the area along Main Street South, from the Police Station to Pomperaug Elementary. Should the weather not cooperate, a rain date is set for the following day, Sunday, October 15th.

This year is special as we are celebrating the 350th anniversary of Southbury. We welcome residents of all age groups to the Chalk Walk. Participants will be assigned a specific sidewalk square to showcase their creativity, reflecting on Southbury’s rich history, beautiful scenery and vibrant culture to honor this milestone anniversary. Participants are welcome to bring their preferred washable sidewalk chalk. Additionally, we will have a limited supply available for those who need it.
Check-in opens at 10:00am at the Town Hall. We urge interested participants to complete their advanced registration by Monday, October 9th, to secure their designated spot. Walk ins are welcome, though supplies will be limited. To learn more or to register, please email artsculturesouthbury@gmail.com.
