All Clear on Lake Zoar Following Distress Call
Emergency officials responded to a possible distress call from Lake Zoar Tuesday afternoon.

Southbury emergency officials, along with state police and emergency crews from surrounding towns, were dispatched to Lake Zoar for a possible distress call shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
According to state police, the call came in from Newtown and several vehicles and boats were sent from Southbury and Newtown to Lake Zoar to investigate the report.
The search has since been called off, and the matter has been cleared, with no issues and nothing found, according to police.

The call comes just days after a 26-year-old New Jersey man died in an apparent drowning at Jackson Cove Park on Lake Zoar.
