SOUTHBURY, CT — Firefighters from several towns responded to a working brush fire in Southbury over the weekend, according to fire officials.
Southbury firefighters were dispatched around 1:30 p.m. Sunday to Brown Brook Road in the Purchase section of town.
Officials said mutual aid crews from Sandy Hook, Roxbury, Middlebury and Woodbury were called to assist as shifting winds caused the fire to change direction.
Firefighters battled the blaze from three different properties and were able to contain it without any damage to nearby structures, according to Southbury Fire.
The incident comes amid ongoing concerns about brush fire risk during Connecticut’s dry and windy spring conditions.
