SOUTHBURY, CT — The Poverty Road Bridge over the Pomperaug River will be temporarily closed to vehicles and pedestrians during daytime hours through Friday as crews begin work tied to its planned replacement.
According to town officials, the one-lane bridge will be closed daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Friday, Aug. 7, while a contractor performs boring work near the bridge as part of the bridge replacement design phase.
Drivers and pedestrians are asked to follow the posted detour and use caution around the work zone.
The town said Ewald Park will remain open during the project.
Officials thanked residents for their patience as the town continues its infrastructure improvement efforts.
