Bear Sighting May Have Caused Southbury Accident: Report

The driver told police he was trying to change lanes after spotting a bear, according to a report.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Police say a bear sighting may have caused an accident on Old Waterbury in Southbury on Monday, the Republican-American reports.

James G. Pattillo, 49, of Middlebury, tried to change lanes after seeing a bear and Meryl Ann Bucciarelli, 19, of Southbury tried to pass him but struck Pattillo's vehicle as he was trying to move over, the Rep-Am reports.
