Bridge Replacement Project To Impact Traffic In Southbury Through September

Closures will affect multiple roads, including Exit 15 ramps on I-84, officials said.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Lane closures are planned on several roads in Southbury as a bridge replacement project gets underway, according to state officials.

The project, which began April 8, will continue through Sept. 30, the Connecticut Department of Transportation said.

Closures will affect Route 6 and Route 67, as well as the eastbound Exit 15 on- and off-ramps on Interstate 84, Community House Road and Kettletown Road, according to CTDOT.

Lane closures will occur during off-peak hours on weekdays, including between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and overnight from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., CTDOT said. On weekends, closures are scheduled between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The project includes bridge replacement work, utility relocation and drainage improvements, according to CTDOT.

Officials said traffic control signs and police officers will guide motorists through the work zone.

Drivers are advised to slow down in the area and expect possible delays. The schedule may change due to weather or other factors, CTDOT said.
