
Connecticut Brass formed in October of 2024 with members of the former Danbury Brass Band. The band primarily plays original compositions and arrangements written specifically for the band by our own members and Alan Raph. Connecticut Brass is a 12 piece chamber ensemble (no conductor) Our standard instrumentation is: 1 Piccolo Trumpet, 3 Bb Trumpets, 1 Flugelhorn, 1 French Horn (aka Horn), 1 Tenor Trombone, 1 Bass Trombone, 2 Euphoniums, 2 Tubas
Our goal is to entertain and to educate. We want all audience members to come away having learned something new while having an enjoyable musical experience.
Program for October 25th, 3 pm at Church of the Epiphany, Southbury will include arrangements of pieces by famous composers, including Bach, Berlioz, Mahler, Holst, Moussourgsky, Rodrigo and Elgar as well as arrangements of popular tunes and marches. Program will be 90 minutes in length with a 15 minute intermission. Audience members are welcome to speak with the band members and ask questions during the intermission. The concert is free and open to the public.
