Calvary Southbury Flood Relief Update
Calvary Southbury's pastor and his wife have just returned from a trip to Malawi and will present an update on the situation there on Sunday

SOUTHBURY, CT – Calvary Chapel Southbury’s senior pastor, John Eastwood, and his wife, Brenda, have just returned this week from a mission trip to Malawi, Africa, to oversee the ongoing ministries and flood relief that the church has provided there. They will present an update on the situation in Malawi at the church this Sunday, May 31 and would like to invite anyone in the community who is interested in learning more to attend either the 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM or 7:00 PM services.
Deadly floods hit the Lower Shire region of Malawi this past January. The United Nations reported over 336,000 people were displaced, hundreds confirmed dead and many injured. The flood waters destroyed crops and swept away simple clay homes along with the few possessions that were in them.
Calvary Southbury has been involved extensively in Malawi and Mozambique over the past decade, offering humanitarian relief, including installation of fresh water wells, and is currently at the epicenter of the hardest hit areas, feeding over 1,000 people per day, while providing firewood and supplies.
