Car Evades DUI Check, Hits State Police Cruiser in Southbury
State Police are seeking the public's help in identifying the driver and vehicle.

State Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a vehicle and the driver that struck a state police cruiser after evading a DUI spot check.
Troopers were conducting a DUI spot check on the I-84 westbound exit 18 off-ramp in Southbury around 9 p.m. on Saturday when the cruiser was struck. The evading vehicle saw the spot check, backed down the off-ramp and struck the cruiser in the process, police said.
According to police, the evading vehicle did not stop after striking the cruiser and continued into Waterbury. The cruiser was parked and unoccupied at the time and received moderate damage.

The evading vehicle is described as a newer model Silver Infinity, four-door sedan with a Connecticut registration plate. The letters “...AA...” were visible on the registration plate.
The vehicle will have damage along the passenger side, possibly from the front end to the rear.
