Cat Rescue Center Moves In Southbury, Public Ceremony Planned

The rescue center needed more space, which was accomplished in the move.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Whiskers Pet Rescue has opened at its new, expanded location in Bennett Square at 134 Main St. South and the facility offers more than triple the space of the prior location, the Republican-American reports.

The cat rescue facility took over the former Calvary Chapel building after the church moved. A special grand opening will be held on March 9 and will be attended by local dignitaries including First Selectman Jeffrey A. Manville. The public is invited to attend the event which begins at noon.

A total of 300 cats were adopted last year, the Rep-Am reports. You can learn more about the operation and to view the cats up for adoption here. The center is open 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM Tuesday-Sunday, according to its website.
