Children's Department of the Southbury Public Library Details Plans for May

The library has story time yoga, book-talks, movies, legos fun, and more for children.

The Children’s Department of the Southbury Public Library will offer a variety of programs for children and young adults at 100 Poverty Rd in Southbury:

A new Storytime Yoga class taught by Kathleen McGowan will be offered on Thursdays at 10:30 throughout the month of May. It is intended for children ages 3-5 years old. It will include stories told thru movement. Registration is required and all mats will be provided. Many thanks to the friends of the Southbury Library for supporting this program.

Booktalks for the month will include the Page Turners for grades 1 & 2 on Weds, May 20 at 4:15, Snacks and Stories for girls in grades 4 and up on Thursday May 7th at 4:15 and Pizza and Pages Middle School book club on Wed., May 6th at 4:00pm.

Wii Have Fun for grades 1-4 will be held on Tuesday, May 19th at 4:15 and Lego to the Library for grades 2-5 will take place on Fri., May22nd at 4:15.

The Lunch Bunch indoor picnic and movie will be on Thursday, May 21 at 12:00 and the Movies & Munchies monthly film will be the new feature film based on the superhero team of “Big Hero 6”. This will be shown on Friday, May 15th at 6:00pm.

Registration may be done on the phone at (203) 262-0626 ext. 3 or by stopping in the Children’s Department for all these programs.

Storytimes that have no registration are also held every week. On Mondays at 10:30, the Library offers a Drop In Storytime & Crafts for all ages and each Thursday a PJ Stories and Crafts program takes place at 6:00pm.
