Chimney Fire Doused By Southbury Firefighters

SOUTHBURY, CT — Southbury firefighters extinguished a chimney fire Wednesday evening, according to fire officials.

No injuries were reported in the 5:23 p.m. blaze, which filled the chimney with black smoke.

"The house was vented of smoke and the homeowners were advised to have the chimney cleaned and inspected before any further use," officials wrote on Facebook (see below).
