The Connecticut State Fraternal Order of Police officially endorsed Jensen, the Republican candidate for the 131st, because “it is clear to us that your platform and agenda is to make Connecticut a better State for Law Enforcement and a safer State for our citizens,” the organization's endorsement letter stated.

“I was honored to receive the endorsement of the Connecticut State Fraternal Order of Police. I’m grateful to the organization and its members who are supporting me in my bid to represent the good people of the 131st District,” Jensen said.

Jensen, an engineer and Oxford Selectman for the past six years, has been a stalwart supporter of area police departments. Addressing crime in our state is one of his top priorities, as is defending against attempts to undermine law enforcement.

Jensen continued: “Voters across our state are rightfully frustrated with the direction we’re headed and the harmful policies that have led us here. Our police officers and state troopers, who already face immense challenges, shouldn’t have to constantly second guess themselves because of misguided legislative changes. As your representative, I’ll make it my priority to restore accountability, support our law enforcement so they can do their jobs without fear of retribution, and ensure that victims of crime receive the justice and support they deserve.”

The Fraternal Order of Police is the nation's largest law enforcement organization, with over 325,000 members and over 2,100 lodges throughout the United States. Founded in 1915, the F.O.P. represents professional, full-time officers from all agencies of law enforcement, according to the Order’s website. The organization is dedicated to improving working conditions, wages and benefits.

As the general election approaches, Jensen’s campaign will focus on engaging with voters across the district, addressing key issues such as economic growth, education, and public safety.
