Daycare in Southbury Closing Abruptly: Report

SOUTHBURY, CT — Clockwork Learning Center in Southbury has abruptly decided to close its doors at the end of this week and parents are now left to scramble to find care for their children, NBC Connecticut reports.

Holly Sullivan told NBC Connecticut the decision has caused "absolute panic" and she needs new daycare by Monday. The decision to close was based on dwindling enrollment, officials said. The business simply ran out of money and couldn't afford to continue paying its staff, NBC Connecticut reports.

It's unclear if employees will paid for October and parents won't be given refunds right away, but the owner vowed to pay them all back over time, NBC reports.
