Developer Scales Back Controversial Proposal in Southbury: Report
Despite the reduced scope, several residents remain opposed to the project, according to a report.

SOUTHBURY, CT — In an attempt to address resident concerns, developer, Kevin Bennett, has scaled back his proposal for The Meadows apartments at 390 Roxbury Road from 14 to six units, the Republican-American reports.
The proposal now calls for two three-unit buildings and a total of 14 spaces. However, neighbors still oppose the project and a hearing will be held 7 p.m. May 16 at Town Hall, the Rep-Am reports.
What the developer is proposing isn't currently allowed in town so the town has a great deal of control on the proposal. Residents are concerned that if this project is approved it could lead to other free-standing apartment developments popping up all over town. Residents also cited traffic concerns as well.
