DUI Checkpoint Announced In Southbury: Police

Police announce an upcoming DUI checkpoint that will take place in Southbury.

SOUTHBURY, CT — The Southbury Police Department has announced an operating under the influence enforcement checkpoint that will take place this week.

The checkpoint starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, and ends at 1 a.m. on March 13. It will be held on Main Street North (southbound lanes), between Main Street South and the I‑84 Exit 15 westbound on‑ramp, according to police.

“This checkpoint is part of the department’s ongoing commitment to reducing impaired driving and enhancing roadway safety throughout the Town of Southbury,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “The enforcement initiative is supervised by the Southbury Police Department and funded through a grant from the Connecticut Department of Transportation OUI Enforcement Program.
