Duo Accused Of Stealing $2,400 Worth Of Perfume In Southbury: PD

The two suspects are accused of shoplifting the perfume from Ulta Beauty in the Southbury Shopping Plaza, according to authorities.

SOUTHBURY, CT — A pair of suspects were arrested on larceny charges Thursday afternoon after police said the two shoplifted more than $2,400 worth of perfume from the Ulta Beauty store in the Southbury Shopping Plaza.

Officers were called to the plaza at about 12:15 p.m. as the incident was taking place, and officers caught the pair in the parking lot.

Southbury police said the two suspects stole 23 bottles of perfume from the store.

Arrested were Waterbury residents Jose Borges, 39, and Christopher Martinez, 20. The two were charged with third-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

The two were released after each posting bond on bail of $10,000, and they are scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 22.
