Edelson Appoints Two Assistants to Office of First Selectman
Carol Hubert and Gosia Liedlich to split First Selectman's assistant position.

Southbury First Selectman Ed Edelson appointed two residents to split the duties of the First Selectman’s assistant position. Carol Hubert and Gosia Liedlich were appointed by Edelson to share the post.
“I am happy to announce that the First Selectman’s assistant position will be shared between two extremely capable women,” Edelson said in a release.
Liedlich and Hubert will replace Jennifer Naylor, who held the post under former First Selectmen Bill Davis and Mark Cooper.

Hubert has served the town for over two decades as the Chair of the Region 15 Board of Education for twelve years and member of the Southbury Board of Selectman for fourteen years. She has served on numerous committees and sub-committees during her terms on the two boards.
“Carol’s knowledge of our town and of the events that have been critical over these years is invaluable to anyone serving as First Selectman,” said Edelson. “I am so pleased that she has agreed to take on this challenge.”

Hubert will be responsible for special projects and working alongside the First Selectman to advise on all matters, according to Edelson.
The other appointment, Liedlich, was involved in Edelson’s campaign for First Selectman, the Friends of Ed Edelson.
Liedlich has an undergraduate degree in Mass Communications and a Masters of Science in e-media, both from Quinnipiac University. She managed the websites, video and social media of Edelson’s campaign.
“As First Selectman, I am committed to carrying on many of those techniques to the office,” said Edelson.
In addition to assuming all of the responsibilities of the town’s Webmaster, Liedlich will be advising on the use of social media including Facebook, blogs and video.
She will be working with all Town Departments to insure that the Town web site is current as well as engaging and informative for citizens. In addition, she will be working with IT Coordinator Ray Mather to find ways to make board and commission meetings more accessible to the citizens, according to Edelson.
