Efforts to Halt Construction of Office for Southbury Public Works Director Fail
A tie vote by the Board of Selectmen ensured the project would go through.

A motion to indefinitely postpone the construction of a new office for the town’s public works director failed on Thursday, the Republican-American reports.
The Board of Selectmen voted 3-3 on Republican Selectman Jennifer O’Neill’s motion resulting in a tie vote and failing the motion.
According to the paper, two Democrat Selectmen voted against the motion along with Republican Chad Landmon. Landmon said he disagreed that the project should be funded, but said since the Board of Finance approved the construction, the selectmen should not stand in the way of the project, the paper reports.
