Elderly Southbury Woman Killed in Head-On Crash: Newtown Police

BREAKING: An elderly woman suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash.

NEWTOWN, CT — An elderly woman was killed after a head-on crash on Mount Pleasant Road late Tuesday morning, Newtown police announced Wednesday. Delores Hake, 86, of Southbury was pronounced dead at Danbury Hospital following the crash that took place at around 11:33 a.m. Tuesday.

Lt. Aaron Bahamonde said that preliminary investigation reveals a car driven by Terelle Anderson, 33, of Bridgeport crossed over the double center line and collided with the car Hake was riding in. "While were very early in the investigation, preliminary findings, indicate that the operator, Terrelle Anderson of Bridgeport CT, crossed over the double yellow center line and collided with Forest Herron who was travelling in the opposite direction where the two vehicles collided head on," said Bahamonde in a statement.

Forrest Herron, 86, of Southbury who was driving the other car was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

Police are asking anyone with information on the accident to contact the Newtown Police Department's Officer John McCluskey.
