Southbury residents who are interested in securing a 10 x 10 raised-bed garden plot in the new Community Garden at Settlers Park are invited to come to the Parks and Recreation Department to reserve their space. Representatives of the Community Garden committee will be on hand to discuss rules and regulations, and hand out informational pamphlets between the hours of 3 and 7 pm in the Parks and Rec office.
Once residents have secured their individual plots, they are invited to attend the "box-building day" at Settlers Park on Sunday, April 29th, when volunteers will demonstrate how to assemble the raised-bed boxes. Materials for the boxes will be supplied free-of-charge to residents thanks to grant funding through the CT State Department of Public Health's ACHIEVE Initiative.
